DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE: THE 14 BEST EASTER EGGS FROM THE NEW TRAILER

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE: THE 14 BEST EASTER EGGS FROM THE NEW TRAILER

The second trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine has just been released. And as usual it’s stuffed with easter eggs. The opportunity for us to list the best references in this new trailer.

AN AGING WOLVERINE

When Deadpool comes to look for Wolverine , the latter is not very welcoming. For change. The clawed mutant straight out his claws to confront Wade Wilson . No luck, three of its claws seem blocked. Deadpool has the good tone to make fun of him by saying “it’s quite common among Wolverines over 40” . Once again, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to portray a tired, jaded, tired Logan, and downright in decline as was the case in Logan . Does the film take place in the same universe as James Mangold’s feature film? Maybe.

HIS WORLD FELL APART

It seems that the Wolverine of the third Deadpool is from a dead world. As told in Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , some worlds in the multiverse have been annihilated. It could be that the original world of this Wolverine, presented in a few flashbacks with a rejuvenated Wolvie, has been destroyed. By who ? For what ? Answer this summer.

THE SKULL OF A GIANT ANT-MAN

During a shot which features Cassandra Nova , the film’s main villain, the most observant will have noticed the presence of a giant Ant-Man skull. Another clue which proves that Deadpool & Wolverine will take place in an alternative version of the MCU , or take place in a more or less distant future (perhaps in the Logan timeline ). In any case, this image is very reminiscent of the design of the Old Man Logan comics and therefore of the excellent Logan by James Mangold.

A FIGHT IN FRONT OF THE FOX LOGO

These images have already been released in the past. Filming photos had in fact teased the presence of a giant 20th Century Fox logo in a desert. We do not yet know the reason for the existence of this logo, but our two heroes will visibly clash in front of the remains of a cult saga, that of the X-Men , which began in 2000.

CASSANDRA NOVA REVEALS HERSELF

Quickly presented in the first teaser, Cassandra Nova reveals herself more in this new trailer . The main antagonist of the feature film, Cassandra Nova, was created in 2001 . A member of the Club of the Damned, she is the twin sister of Charles Xavier . In the comics, she is accidentally killed in her mother’s womb by Charles Xavier. However, she survived in an astral form , subsisting on the mental energy of humanity. Thanks to this energy, she created a physical body, by copying her brother’s DNA. Cassandra is a mental parasite , capable of assimilating human DNA and creating her own body. In Deadpool & Wolverine she appears to have the ability to control Wolverine’s adamantium. To see how the character will be developed in the feature film.

ALIOTH

This second trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine once again refers to Alioth , the energy monster from He Who Dwells in season 1 of Loki. Present in the End Times Void , this inter-dimensional monster is a sort of guardian of the End Times. He is responsible for killing the variants that are sent here by TVA agents . This suggests that Deadpool and Wolverine will be sent by the TVA to this still mysterious location within the MCU. The two mutants will therefore undoubtedly face Alioth, and perhaps cross paths with Loki variants or Renslayer, who was sent there at the end of season 2 of Loki .

DOGPOOL

A new teaser that also offers the first look at Dogpool. A member of the Deadpool Corps , Dogpool is from Earth -103173 . Basically, Dogpool is a normal dog, who was genetically modified by the Weapon X program . Experiments that mutated him into a dog that heals from all possible injuries. Basically, it’s Deadpool in canine version. Logically, Dogpool will not be the only member of the Deadpool Corps to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.

MAD MAX

In one shot, we can see an extremely impressive masked driver. Very inspired by the aesthetics of the Mad Max universe , we do not yet know the identity of this character. Some fans think it’s Doom, we’re leaning more towards Pyro, introduced in the previous trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine . In any case, once again, this desert setting is very reminiscent of the aesthetic of Logan.

RED SKULL’S CAR

A sequence during which the Red Skull’s car also appears in the first Captain America: First Avenger . It’s hard to know how the tyrant’s car got into the Void, but there’s a good chance that Pyro got hold of it.

DR. STRANGE’S PORTAL?

Towards the end of the trailer, Deadpool and Wolverine jump into a portal. A portal that is modeled after the famous rings of fire from Doctor Strange . Will the Sorcerer Supreme be in the film? Difficult to say, but it is nevertheless a significant indicator. Indeed, Strange is not the only one to master this method. Wong also knows how to create these portals that allow you to travel across the multiverse, as does America Chavez who learns this technique at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . But in any case, the famous Strange portals will play a role in the feature film.

A NEW INSIGHT INTO MR PARADOX AND VAT

This new trailer also offers a new look at TVA and Mr Paradox . As in the first trailer, Deadpool appears to confront TVA agents in a setting very reminiscent of the snowy forest at the start of Avengers: Age of Ultron . As for Mr. Paradox, the new Mobius, he has a small cameo in this new trailer. As a reminder, Mr Paradox was created in 2005 , by Dan Slott. A member of the TVA, he is responsible for monitoring the time continuum and the flow of the multiverse.

LOGAN’S YELLOW SUIT

Teased in a deleted scene from Wolverine: Battle of the Undying , Logan’s iconic yellow costume finally makes its debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A REFERENCE TO ROB LIEFELD

When Deadpool and Wolverine walk in slow motion to Madonna ‘s Like a Prayer , a store named Liefeld’s Just Feet can be seen in the background . This is a reference to Rob Liefeld , the creator of Deadpool in the comics. The joke goes even further because Rob Liefeld is renowned for not knowing how to draw his characters’ feet correctly . A rather funny little joke.

HULK’S BED

The most observant will have noticed a discreet reference to Thor: Ragnarok . We can quickly see Hulk’s bed in the background. The bed in question was present on the planet Sakaar where the Jade Giant was held prisoner.
